A fire destroyed one of Calgary’s most popular bars early Sunday morning.

At around 2:30 a.m., Calgary firefighters were called to a fire in Ol’Beautiful, 1100 block of 12 Street SE.

When emergency crews arrived, smoke and flames were visible from outside. When they entered the building, they found that the entire building was on fire and the flames reached the roof.

Emergency services are preparing to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to neighboring buildings.

It took two and a half hours to bring the fire under control. However, on Sunday morning shortly before 11 a.m., smoke appeared to be coming from the scene and the fire may have broken out again.

Investigators are on site and are trying to determine the cause of the fire. Traffic on the 12th The road will be impacted throughout the day.

A Sunday post on Instagram said: “Our popular Inglewood taproom caught fire early this morning. No employees or patrons were on site and our neighbors in the Cold Garden were able to safely evacuate.”

“The bar will remain closed for the foreseeable future.

“Our off-site production facility will continue to produce all of our delicious beers, which will continue to be available on tap and in retail across the province.

“We want to extend our sincere gratitude to our community for their continued support as we plan the next steps following this devastating loss. We will do our best to keep you all updated.

“We are all beautiful.”
