A 40-acre brush fire in Martin Tudor Jurupa Hills Regional Park in Fontana threatened homes Sunday afternoon, June 30, although no immediate evacuation was ordered.

The Sierra Avenue fire was reported around 2:45 p.m. near the intersection of Sierra Avenue and Jurupa Avenue, the San Bernardino County Fire Department said.

The flames were moving southeast and partly uphill toward the east, the department said in an update at 3:43 p.m.
