WALNUT CREEK, CALIFORNIA — Meals on Wheels Diablo Region (MOW Diablo Region) is pleased to announce that Lindy Maynes-Kolthoff was elected to the organization’s board of directors. Maynes-Kolthoff maintains a close relationship with the MOW Diablo Region as a volunteer for the Breakfast Bag Program.

Maynes-Kolthoff has worked for over 35 years with students in higher education, both at universities and community colleges. As executive director of Los Medanos College FoundationShe was active in her area of ​​East Contra Costa County as a member of the Pittsburg Chamber of Commercemember of Contra Costa County Industrial Associationreceived a proclamation in honor of her volunteer work in the City of Pittsburg and served on the Board of Directors of the Rotary Club of AntiochMaynes-Kolthoff is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Delta Advocacy Foundation as Chairman of the Grants Committee.

In addition to volunteering with MOW Diablo Region, Maynes-Kolthoff also has personal experience with the organization. Her father was a volunteer forty years ago and said it was the best job he ever had. When her father-in-law needed help ten years ago, the food deliveries literally saved his life, she says.

The mission of Meals on Wheels Diablo Region is to keep seniors fed, protected, less isolated and independent for as long as possible. MOW Diablo Region is the only organization that delivers both meals and supportive services throughout the county. In addition to home meal delivery, the organization offers breakfast bags, grocery bags, cultural cuisine, cafes, fall prevention, friendly visitors, callers and helpers, case management and exercise classes.
