Stockbridge, West Stockbridge and Richmond explore joint emergency and fire services Springfield’s 11th Annual Jazz and Roots Festival Begins

Applications are invited from persons interested in serving as members of the newly established Richmond Civilian Board pursuant to City Ordinance.

Members of this eight-person panel will be appointed for three-year terms. They will play a key role in reviewing, investigating and making recommendations to the Richmond City Council, Mayor and Chief of Police on specific internal investigations of the Richmond Police Department. This work will directly contribute to ensuring accuracy, completeness and impartiality, thereby increasing trust and cooperation between law enforcement and the community.

Applicants should:

  • Be a resident of the city of Richmond,
  • Have not currently or previously held a position as a police officer,
  • Have no family or household members in a law enforcement position,
  • No pending litigation with the City of Richmond and
  • Stand up for justice, fairness and social engagement.

All persons interested in serving on this important body are invited and encouraged to submit their application by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 30, 2024 (previous deadline was August 29, 2024).
