Ghanaian midfielders Seidu Yassif Dauda and Richmond Lamptey are among three new players officially unveiled by Rwandan champions APR FC on Sunday, July 7.

Dauda and Lamptey joined APR FC from Ghana Premier League champions Samartex FC and Kumasi Asante Kotoko respectively.

Another player who was introduced is Mauritanian attacker Mamadou Sy, who came from Nouakchott Kings.

The trio each signed a two-year contract and will hope to contribute to the club’s quest to maintain its domestic dominance and dream big in the CAF Champions League next season.

Dauda, ​​Lamptey and Mamadou are reportedly part of coach Darko Novic’s squad for the 2024 CECAFA Kagame Cup, which will take place in Tanzania and Zanzibar from July 7 to 21.

The squad reportedly includes other new signings such as Arsene Tuyisenge, Frodouard Mugiraneza, Olivier Dushimimana and Gilbert Byiringiro, who joined the club from Rayon Sports, Kiyovu SC, Bugesera FC and Marines FC respectively.

Novic’s team will leave Kigali for Tanzania on Monday, July 7, just two days before the start of the tournament.

APR FC have won the Rwandan Premier League five times in a row, including two undefeated matches. The club has strengthened its squad once again as its main goal is now to go far in the 2024/25 CAF Champions League.
