Pamela Smith Waters, 72, of Raleigh, completed her earthly journey on Monday, July 8, 2024.

Pam was born on January 16, 1952 in Richmond County to the late William Thomas and Lucille Rankin Smith.

In her early years, she worked for Richmond County Schools until the birth of her first child. After that, she became a proud homemaker. She was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Raleigh, where she sang in the choir and enjoyed playing tennis at North Ridge Country Club. Pam had a great passion and green thumb for gardening. She loved being outside and barefoot in the garden.

Her sister Sandra Lou Smith died before her.

She leaves behind her husband of 41 years, Keith Waters, her children Adyson Long (Anthony Motola), Jake Waters (Rachael) and Jordan Burwell (Leon), her grandchildren Jagger Burwell, Haven Burwell, Paityn Waters and William Motola, her sister Tess Ann Jones and her niece Jill Emerson.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham. The Reverend Tom Jones will officiate. Burial will be private at Eastside Cemetery.

The family will greet friends after the service at the funeral home.

Special thanks go to her caregiver Joyce Chematui and her children Sheila, Viola and Abby Korir, who have been a big part of Pam’s life over the last six years.
