BLOOMINGTON – The Indiana basketball team announced its full non-league schedule Tuesday morning.

The Hoosiers open the year with a weekend game against SIU-Edwardsville on Wednesday, Nov. 6, at Assembly Hall. An exhibition game has not been announced, but the program will likely host at least one exhibition game before the season opener.

Outside of the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament, Indiana’s schedule features only one high-profile opponent, South Carolina, and no other road or neutral site games outside of the Big Ten. The Gamecocks entered the NCAA Tournament last year as a No. 6 seed with a record of 26-8 (13-5 SEC).

The teams will play at Assembly Hall on November 16th.

The Battle 4 Atlantis field includes Arizona, Davidson, Gonzaga, Louisville, Oklahoma, Providence and West Virginia. The tournament, held in the Bahamas, is a three-day, 12-game event scheduled over the Thanksgiving holiday.

Indiana’s game against Winthrop on Dec. 28 at Assembly Hall will be the first-ever meeting between these programs. The Eagles are a richly-established mid-major program with 11 NCAA Tournament appearances, most recently in 2021.

The team is coached by Mark Prosser, the son of former Xavier coach Skip Prosser.

Indiana’s conference opponents were announced in May, but they are still waiting on the time and date of those games.

While the Big Ten expanded to 18 teams, the conference maintained a 20-game schedule with teams playing three schools each, home and away, and once against 14 teams, seven home and seven away.

The Hoosiers will play against Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Rutgers, UCLA and USC at Assembly Hall. They will play against Iowa, Michigan State, Nebraska, Northwestern, Oregon, Washington and Wisconsin on the road.

Indiana’s home and away games are against Ohio State, Penn State and Purdue.
