Monica Lynn Beard was born on April 12, 1955 in Canadian, Texas, to Don and Betty Ruth Merydith Beard. She died on July 7, 2024 in Abilene, Texas.

A service will be held at a later date.

Monica attended elementary school in Lipscomb, Texas, and middle and high school in Canadian, where she graduated in 1973. She majored in biology and minored in chemistry at the University of Texas at El Paso and earned a Bachelor of Science in medical laboratory work from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Dallas. Monica worked in the laboratory department at Presbyterian Hospital and later, while living in the Dallas area, sold medical instruments to labs and clinics. After retiring, she moved to Brownwood, Texas, to care for her parents.

Monica loved to travel and was able to visit many exciting places.

Her parents, Don and Betty Beard, and her cousins, Don David and David Mayfield, predeceased her.

Survivors include cousins ​​Oather Mayfield, Guy Mayfield and Mark Mayfield, all of Missouri, Anthony Beard of Minnesota and Michael Beard of South Carolina, an aunt, Ann Beard of Minnesota, her furry kitten, Aiden, and many friends.

Her family and friends would like to thank all the doctors and nurses at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene and Sunni at Chatfield Assisted Living in Brownwood.
