Springfield’s 11th Annual Jazz and Roots Festival Begins Point Molate in Richmond on track to become an East Bay Regional Park

As part of its ongoing community outreach efforts, the Red Sox Foundation will host its 13th annual Swings for the Sox golf tournament on October 11.

The tournament takes place on the Gold Course of the Tiburón Golf Club, 2620 Tiburón Drive in Naples.

A scramble format with prizes for longest drive, putting, closest to the pin and more begins at 8:30 a.m. after registration at 7:15 a.m. A continental breakfast and buffet lunch are included.

All proceeds from this year’s tournament will benefit the Lee County Red Sox scholarship program. Each year, the Red Sox Foundation awards a $5,000 college scholarship to one deserving student from each Lee County public high school and one student from a Lee County charter and ALS school. There are 16 scholarships totaling $80,000.

To date, Swings for the Sox has raised more than $615,000 for local charities, specifically $530,000 for the scholarship program.

This year’s title sponsor is ReRoute, a socially conscious manufacturing, sales and distribution company that aims to change how some of the products you buy are made and where they are made. ReRoute products are made from fully recyclable plastic or agave. They are manufactured under humane conditions from compostable materials. ReRoute is back this year as a golf ball sponsor alongside Galloway Ford.

Tournament sponsorships start at $350. Four-player packages start at $1,200. All golfers will receive a New Balance polo shirt, travel bag and customized Red Sox logo gifts. There will also be high-value raffle prizes for golfers to bid on.

Raffle items will be accepted to raise funds for the Red Sox Foundation Scholarship Fund and additional funds for those in need throughout Southwest Florida.

The Red Sox Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and the official charity of the Boston Red Sox. The Foundation’s local focus is to support health, education, recreation and social services for children and families throughout Southwest Florida. The Red Sox Foundation is one of the most successful in all of Major League Baseball.
