Riko’s Pizza has signed agreements for two locations in Fairfield County, Connecticut, bringing the brand’s total to six locations in Connecticut and 11 locations nationwide.

The Riko’s Westport location is directly across from the Westport Metro North station and Luciano Park. Riko’s of Westport will be built on a large, freestanding lot and will feature a 2,400 square foot restaurant with an open design, 27 tables, a 37-foot bar with 18 stools and 20 televisions. The location will open in partnership with a new franchisee group and is expected to open sometime in the fourth quarter of 2024 or first quarter of 2025.

“Westport is not only one of the most dynamic markets in Connecticut, but also one of the best suburban markets for restaurant operators in the entire country,” Rico Imbrogno, co-founder and CEO of Riko’s Pizza, said in the press release. “This new location is going to be amazing. High ceilings, a huge bar, dozens of tables with enough space for 140 guests and the classic Riko’s decor mixed with wall-to-wall large TVs. Westport simply has nothing like Riko’s Pizza, and we are so excited to bring our delicious tavern-style pizza and ‘neighborhood joint’ atmosphere even closer to the city’s vibrant residents who have come to love our brand through our other locations in Fairfield County.”

The brand will also relocate and expand its previous Norwalk location, which was open for takeout only, to its full-service restaurant and bar concept at 85 New Canaan Avenue on the border of Norwalk and New Canaan. This location will include a 4,600-square-foot space with 32 tables, a 37-foot bar, 25 stools and 14 televisions. Once the new Riko’s of Norwalk opens, Riko’s will close its previous location at 247 Connecticut Avenue, which was open for takeout only. This new company-owned location is expected to open in late Q4 2024 or Q1 2025.

“Our comprehensive restaurant and bar concept has proven successful everywhere we go, and we are excited to now bring it to the Norwalk market, where we have successfully operated a takeout-only restaurant since 2012,” added Imbrogno. “By moving our Norwalk location to the Broad River neighborhood, we have also been able to allow the company to better serve its equally important customer bases in Norwalk and New Canaan. When we consider our planned Westport restaurant, when we open, we will have six locations across the state, from the Stamford-Greenwich border to Black Rock, ensuring that Riko’s Pizza serves every corner of Connecticut’s Gold Coast!”

Riko’s Pizza was founded in 2011. The company currently has four of its own locations and six franchise stores.
