UPDATE: Columbia police have arrested 18-year-old Jeremiah Johnson of Columbia for the overnight shooting on Lincoln Drive. Columbia police are seeking charges of first-degree assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon. Columbia police say their investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at (573) 875-TIPS.

According to Columbia police, an adult man was shot multiple times in downtown overnight, sustaining serious injuries.

According to the CPD’s Facebook post, the incident occurred around 1 a.m. in the 200 block of Lincoln Drive, near Providence and Worley. Columbia Police investigators say the adult male victim was taken by ambulance to a local hospital with serious injuries and two adult men were arrested. CPD also reports damage to a vehicle.

Reporter Jazsmin Halliburton of our news partner KMIZ reports that the area was cordoned off with crime scene tape overnight.
