What’s better than one multi-million dollar dream home? For Kathy from Wisconsin, the answer is two!

After siblings Kathy and Peg found their $5 million dream lake house in Wisconsin, they enlisted the help of designer and television personality David Bromstad to find them a vacation home in Naples.

The new episode of My Lottery Dream Home, titled “The Gold Lady of Naples,” aired on HGTV on June 7, 2024. Here’s what you should know if you missed the episode.

What is my lottery dream home?

“My Dream Lottery Home” is a show on HGTV where host David Bromstad walks lottery winners through potential homes. Some winners are looking for modest accommodations, while others are looking for extravagant vacation destinations.

The show has been airing since 2015 and is currently in its 16th season.

Who is the Golden Lady of Naples?

Kathy originally appeared in Season 16, Episode 1 of “My Lottery Dream” Home, where she purchased a $5 million home in Madison, Wisconsin. She returned to the show to look for a vacation home in Naples.

Kathy was interested in spacious three- to four-bedroom homes with pools, outdoor living areas, golf opportunities, and space for a boat on the water. Her budget was between $2.2 million and $2.4 million.

What did My Lottery Dream Home say about Naples?

Throughout the 21-minute episode, Bromstad uses some pretty unique phrases to mention Naples. Here’s the list.

  • A playground for the rich and rich
  • Another version of wealthy
  • You can smell the money
  • Countless golf courses, lots of water, lots of beaches, great restaurants and lots of billionaires

How much did Kathy’s dream house in Naples cost?

Bromstad gave Kathy three housing options to choose from:

  1. Windstar Way
    • 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 223 square meters
    • 1,900,000 USD
  2. Portrush Square
    • 3 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 3,282 square meters
    • $2,250,000
  3. Cape of Capuano
    • 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2,100 square meters
    • $2,335,000

In the end, Kathy chooses the $2.25 million Portrush Place as the vacation home of her dreams.

How did My Lottery Dream Home find potential homes for Kathy?

Bromstad enlisted the help of local real estate agent Jim Calvert to find the three potential dream homes for Kathy.

Calvert is a third-generation real estate agent and co-founded Safe Harbor Real Estate. In addition to monitoring homes for rent and sale, Safe Harbor also offers home monitoring and concierge services.

“David is the real deal,” Calvert told Naples Daily News. “His personality on and off camera is infectious and it’s pretty clear why the show has so many fans. The producers and crew have been great to work with.”

Has SWFL ever been featured on “My Dream Lottery Home”?

“The Gold Lady of Naples” is not SWFL’s first contribution to “My Lottery Dream Home”.

Last year, Cape Coral was a topic of discussion. Local restaurants and homes were featured in the third episode of the 14th season of HGTV’s “The Wizard of Cape Coral.”
