On Sunday, July 21, at 11 a.m. Antioch Baptist Church The annual Youth Day program will take place in Saluda. Minister Larrine Goins will give the morning sermon and there will be a special musical guest.

“Celebrate our youth with us,” urged a representative from Antioch.


Immanuel Baptist ChurchSaluda, celebrates its annual homecoming on Sunday, July 28, at 10 a.m.

Dr. Valerie C. Matthews of Charles City will be the guest preacher at the 10 a.m. service. Dinner will be served after the morning service. There will be no afternoon service.
Brother Leon Harris is the musical director.

Revival services will be offered Tuesday through Thursday, July 30 through August 1. The revival preacher will be the Reverend Dr. Robert Diggs, pastor of Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Petersburg.
Praise and worship begins at 7 p.m., the service begins at 7:30 p.m. and the sermon is at 8 p.m.

Various singing groups provide the music.

The Reverend Dr. Alvin Gresham, associate pastor of St. Luke Baptist Church in Plum Point, will be guest preacher at the 11 a.m. service. Dinner will be served after the morning service. There will be no afternoon service. Music director will be Brother Leon Harris.

Revival services will be offered Tuesday through Friday, July 23-26. The revival preacher is Rev. Dr. Robert Diggs, pastor of Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Petersburg. Praise and worship will begin at 7 p.m.; the service will begin at 7:30 p.m. and the preached word will be at 8 p.m.

Music will be provided by: Tuesday: Make-A-Way and Deliverance Full Gospel Church Male Chorus, Wednesday: Good Hope Baptist Church Gospel Chorus, Thursday: Total Praise and Friday to be announced.


Parish of Christ Church (Episcopal) in Christchurch had a very busy month of June. Church members were involved in the Fine Arts Camp, Robotics Camp and the retirement celebration of their Rector (Father Stuart Wood). Father Stuart’s last sermon was on Sunday 30 June. He will be greatly missed.

Upcoming activities include collecting school supplies for students in the community, participating in “Wings, Wheels, and Keels” on September 28, and participating in “One Community Under God” on October 6.

The newest event will be held on Sunday, September 8th at noon. The church’s annual potluck luncheon is offered to welcome former members who live out of town, as well as current members and new members.

Welcome to the summer service in Bethpage Camp Resort on Sunday, July 14, at 9 a.m. The speaker will be Rev. Mark Miller of Urbanna United Methodist Church. Music will be provided by Jubal, a local church band. Fellowship will be held in the Bethpage Amphitheater. In the event of rain, it will be moved to the Bethpage Rally Center.

The Urbanna Baptist Church has hosted its annual worship service at the campground for 43 summers. Campers, area visitors, and all Middlesex County residents are welcome. Dress code is casual.

Community members in Lower United Methodist Church (LUMC), 120 Lower Church Road, Hartfield, hope everyone will come along to their informal service and ‘Breakfast with Friends’ event this Sunday. They meet in the fellowship hall at 9:30am for breakfast at 9:45am.

They will remain in the hall for the service at 10:30 a.m. Sue Hardman will be the guest speaker.

Celebrate the day of family and friends in Zion Branch Baptist ChurchSaluda, Sunday, July 14th at 12:00 noon. The guest speaker will be Minister Viola Holland of Colerain, NC. They look forward to seeing you there.

Escobrook Baptist Church in King and Queen County will celebrate homecoming on August 4th at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Rev. Arthur K. Roane will deliver the morning sermon. Dinner will be served immediately following the morning service.

The afternoon service begins at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Dr. John Wright, pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church in Saluda, and Rev. Dr. Wright’s church family.

A revival is planned for Tuesday and Thursday, August 6-8. Speakers on Tuesday will be Elder Alexander Parsons of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Barnsville, on Wednesday the Rev. Virginia Young, pastor of Zion Baptist Church in King and Queen County, and on Thursday Bishop Carlton B. Johnson, pastor of Zion Branch Baptist Church in Saluda.
