Qatar’s high summer temperatures provide residents and visitors with the opportunity to spend their holidays exploring the city’s most popular air-conditioned outdoor destinations.

“Don’t let the temperatures stop you from enjoying outdoor activities,” Visit Qatar, the official website of Qatar Tourism, posted on its social media channels.

First and foremost is West Walk, an innovative district in Al Waab, which promises a modern living, working and leisure experience with its promenade streets and a pleasant climate all year round.

Although West Walk is popular during the cold months, it still attracts many visitors during this time thanks to its air-conditioned outdoor area.

Another popular spot is Al Hazm, described as “Qatar’s most luxurious and extravagant destination”, offering guests a unique experience: from luxurious fashion houses to lavishly decorated restaurants and cafes, in addition to its architectural splendor. Handcrafted Tuscan marble adorns its corridors and interior walls, creating an elegant and grand atmosphere.

Visitors can also stroll through Al Hazm’s central gardens, sit in the shade or enjoy the view of the fountains and flower garden from a small hill.

Al Hazm also features a state-of-the-art outdoor cooling system and heat-absorbing marble floors, making the space comfortable all year round.

Beyond traditional luxury shopping, Galeries Lafayette at 21 High Street in Katara – the Cultural Village – offers a unique outdoor destination that combines retail and open-air ambience.

Katara itself hosts numerous cultural events and activities, attracting a large number of visitors to the area. With its diverse mix of fashion, jewelry, accessories, art, restaurants and cafes, 21 High St. offers a vibrant experience for all.

Place Vendome in Lusail is home to more than 560 retail outlets, including a luxury wing offering only top designer brands. It features a canal that comes directly from the sea, creating a stunning open square with cafes and restaurants overlooking the water. The centre is a major attraction for residents and visitors, offering a combination of entertainment and retail.

Souq Waqif, with its labyrinthine alleys, old mud-brick buildings and vibrant street life, takes visitors back in time and makes it a popular destination all year round.

At Souq Waqif, shoppers will find Middle Eastern goods, handicrafts and unique souvenirs. Live music, art and cultural shows add to the atmosphere and make the souq a truly immersive experience.

You will learn that these five destinations offer a diverse range of experiences and ensure a pleasant outdoor environment despite the summer heat.
