Dan Delcour, age 70, died on July 9, 2024 in Springfield, Missouri. He was born on February 22, 1954 in Mansfield, Missouri, to Francis and Geleta Adamson Delcour.

Dan attended Hartville High School and then went on to MSU where he earned a bachelor’s degree. Dan owned Dan’s Custom Cycles and worked for Zenith, KTXR, O’Reilly’s and was a special education teacher at Logan Rogersville High School.

On October 23, 2011, Don married Connie Guinn.

Dan was saved and baptized, and his faith was very important to him. Dan was a regular at the tattoo parlor, spent time with family and friends, was an avid reader, and a scathing editorial writer. He was one of the initiators of the 1981 Toys for Tots motorcycle race in Springfield, Missouri.

Dan was predeceased by his parents Francis and Geleta Adamson Delcour.

He leaves behind his wife Connie, his daughter Marianne Beard and her husband Jason, his stepson Brandon Kellum and his wife Brenda, his stepson Jarod Kellum, his brother Jerry Delcour and his wife Janet, his niece Jerica Delcour, a host of grandchildren, a great-granddaughter and several others who know him as Papa Dan.

Dan was so loved and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

A memorial service in Dan’s honor will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Walnut Lawn Funeral Home, 2001 W. Walnut Lawn, Springfield, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
