DCG Softball ends great season with loss | Raccoon Valley Radio Some lanes of Forest Hill Avenue closed after main sewer collapse

Clarissa, age 103, passed away peacefully Friday evening, July 5, 2024, at Cape Coral Rehab in Cape Coral, FL.

She was born on January 23, 1921 to Harvey and Irene Burgard Davis and lived with her parents and siblings in Franklin, PA.

Clarissa married William “Bill” Ray in 1937. They had thirty-seven wonderful years and four children together. Bill and Clarissa enjoyed traveling to Alaska, Hawaii, Mexico, Florida, Colorado, Montana and Wyoming for recreation and hunting. During her life, Clarissa lived in Franklin, Woodland & Clearfield, PA, and St. James City & Cape Coral, FL.

Clarissa was a homemaker and was known for her homemade bread, butter and delicious home-cooked meals. Among the many things we will remember her for are the many hours she spent quilting in quilting groups at the local church. Clarissa was a devout Christian who read her Bible daily, prayed for so many needs, said grace before meals and attended church and Sunday school regularly. She loved spending time with her family; her grandchildren fondly remember them baking, reading and doing puzzles together. Clarissa was generous with her time and always willing to help those in need. She will be greatly missed.

Clarissa was preceded in death by her husbands William Ray, Robert Carns and Marion Marvin, as well as her siblings Agnes Keith, Irwin Davis, June Richey and Albert Davis, her daughter-in-law Corinne Ray and her grandson Steve Ray.

She is survived by her sister Janice Hines and her four children, William Ray Jr., Terry (Nancy) Ray, Sue (Scott) Simmons and RoxAnn (Alan) Mason. Clarissa is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren and eleven great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Huff-Guthrie Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St. Franklin.

Family and friends are welcome to visit on Monday, July 15, from 10:00 a.m. to noon at Christ United Methodist Church, 1135 Buffalo St., Franklin. Funeral services will be held in the nave at noon.

Clarissa is buried next to her first husband, William Ray, at Congress Hill Church Cemetery in Franklin, PA.
