Pleasanton police announced that a Richmond man was arrested in connection with a July 9 robbery.

According to police, an airsoft rifle and ski mask were recovered as evidence after a man was arrested for robbery. On Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Pleasanton Police received reports of a suspect wearing a black ski mask and black clothing and carrying a rifle. The suspect entered a store in the 3000 block of Bernal Ave and demanded money from the cash register. After throwing the cash register into a duffel bag, he fled the scene.

Upon arrival, our police team found the store employees safely locked in a back room. Officers tracked down the suspect along Stoneridge Mall Road and arrested him after a short foot pursuit. Nearby, they found the duffel bag containing the airsoft rifle, black ski mask, and cash register containing approximately $230.

During the investigation, officers discovered the 43-year-old suspect Mario Robinson from Richmond was on probation. He was subsequently taken to the Santa Rita Jail on charges including robbery and probation violation.
