Teenager who stabbed police officer in Brentwood receives 6 years Murder suspect is convicted drug dealer and habitual offender

Shirley Mae Gilbert, born May 18, 1928 in Faribault, Minnesota to Harry and Ellen Pantier, died peacefully on June 23, 2024 after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Gilbert, and son, Jerry Gilbert. She is survived by a brother, Raymond (Lapita) Pantier, sons, John (Debbie) and Jeff (Dede) Gilbert, and four grandchildren, Robert (Jillian), Sarah (Arch), Jason and Jenna (Eric), and three great-grandchildren. Shirley attended Vallejo High School and then graduated from Vallejo Junior College. She met Harold at a softball game. After Harold returned from military service, they were married on August 6, 1950, in Woodland, California. Harold died in 2008 after 58 years of marriage. They moved to Knights Landing while Shirley worked for Marvin Landplane in Woodland. In 1980, she was appointed postmaster of the Knights Landing post office and held that position for 12 years. Shirley was a member of the Van Lew Auxiliary of the VFW in Knights Landing and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter Knights Landing. She also volunteered as a packer for the Woodland Food Closet and was an active member of the Knights Landing United Methodist Church. Shirley loved golf, playing cards and weekly bingo with friends, going to the casino, and traveling. Until the end of her life, she was independent and self-sufficient. She loved her family and enjoyed time with them. Services will be Saturday, June 29th at 10 a.m. at the Knights Landing Methodist Church, followed by a reception at the Robbins Community Hall. A funeral service will be Wednesday, July 3rd at 9 a.m. at the Knights Landing Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Knights Landing Methodist Church or Knights Landing Volunteer Fire Department, organizations dear to Shirley’s heart.
