Attacks, neglect and a call to action Predicting every game in the Ohio State Buckeyes 2024 schedule

“What, like it’s hard?”

The bubbly, pink-clad Harvard Law School fashionista takes the stage in Paramount Productions’ 31st annual summer musical Legally Blonde.

Based on the 2001 film and novel of the same name, the musical is a contemporary Broadway production that builds on the themes of perseverance, self-discovery and female empowerment.

College student Patti Maisano stars as Elle Woods, a California sorority president who later attended Harvard Law School. Maisano jumped into the role immediately after being cast in the role.

“I immediately realized that the role represents the face of the stereotypes that women have to contend with,” Maisano said. “I think especially for someone like Elle, she’s faced prejudice her whole life because of the way she expresses herself, and I’m so honored to be able to play a character that shows people that there’s no right way to be a woman.”

Katie Hahn, director of Paramount Productions, chose Legally Blonde for the summer show because of its fun, optimistic mood and powerful message.

The story paints a good picture of women supporting each other and finding themselves, but it also highlights the difficulties and how difficult it can be to be taken seriously in male-dominated professions, Hahn said.

In order to put on a musical with energetic songs and dance numbers, a well-coordinated and experienced production team was crucial.
